Over the last few weeks, I decided to get started on my baby registries with the expectation that I would have as much fun as I did creating a wedding registry. WRONG! To be honest, creating a baby registry is challenging and a bit frustrating. I went into the process with such excitement to pick out cute items for our baby girl. It all sounds easy until you think about what’s the safest item, what keeps your child from suffocating, what if you get something and then the baby doesn’t take to it like you would expect. My mind is in a tizzy!

To make matters worse, I stress with every big item. Last week it was crib mattresses. There are so many kinds! As I mentioned in prior posts, I’m an expert shopper (especially online) and I never have to worry about reading reviews. When baby shopping, I find myself perusing each review and swayed every time there is a negative comment which is always. Thankfully, I have other great parents to bounce ideas off of and other mommy-to-bes to help me maintain my sanity through it all. This week, I was so thankful for my coworker for giving me a product suggestion and then gifting me an item that he used with his kids. It was so thoughtful!

Slowly, I’ve been coming to grips with the fact that there probably isn’t a perfect version of each item and you learn as you go the best you can. Needless to say, my registry is definitely a sea of pink items so far. I probably need to work on that 🙂
