“Oh darling don’t you ever grow up, don’t you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don’t you ever grow up, don’t you ever grow up
It could stay this simple”
– Taylor Swift “Never Grow Up”
Prior to Monday, I had never heard this song until my BFF played it while stopping by for a visit. Much like Beyonce, nine times out of ten I’m in my feelings, so today is no different.
Anyways, on Monday after hearing this song I started to reflect on our current time as parents and realized it’s been tiring, amazing, frustrating, scary and completely rewarding all at the same time. These days I try not to focus on my “am I doing this too much? am I doing this too little?” thoughts and just enjoy juggling life and the simplest of moments through my child’s eyes. I’m so thankful to have a partner to share the time and responsibility of parenthood with because I honestly don’t know how the single mothers do it!
It’s a joy to watch something you created grow, mimic you and find their own bearings. Parents, check out the song if you haven’t heard it, it’s so sweet!
Sidenote: I promise all my future posts won’t… scratch that… probably won’t be about my child or parenthood, but she’s just so darn cute!
