It’s been a really draining week so while James and Journey are napping, I decided to do a quick DIY project. I love DIY projects. In my mind, I could be somewhere on HGTV, but I lack the focus to do long projects and they sometimes turn out as DIY disasters. When I want to relax, I look at my Pinterest boards (I have one specifically for Home DIY projects) and think about easy projects I can complete.
I’ve been wanting to try Pennies for a Fortune’s DIY Marble Tray for a while and decided it was something easy I could complete today.

Here are the supplies I purchased from The Home Depot:
- A porcelain tile (about $5)
- Two 3″ drawer pulls ($6/each)
- E6000 Industrial Strength Adhesive ($4.29)
I deviated from the original instructions by not purchasing the tube caps for the bottom, but Home Depot only had copper caps and I really wanted to go with the silver/chrome look. The hardest part of this project was measuring and measuring and measuring again to make sure the pulls were in the right place. Overall this project took about 20 minutes and I love the final result.
A couple of ways to use the tray:
Styling or staging a bedroom for guests

A hard surface for writing, reading or using your laptop.

A cool enhancement to your side table.

I’m hoping that James reads this and uses it to bring me breakfast in bed after it’s completely dry 🙂
It’s so versatile and I’m looking forward to using it in my decor. How do you guys think I did?
