While visiting my good friend/twin Lindsay, she showed me a photo book she created through Shutterfly using photos she had taken throughout the year chronicling important moments with her family. I loved the idea and decided to make photo books for Journey throughout her life (or as long as I can keep it up).
Each quarter, I create a photo book featuring photos of Journey, our family and friends. It’s so amazing to see how she changes from the beginning of the quarter to the end… she turns into a different baby!

The photo books through Shutterfly are extremely user-friendly and come with great features to make your photo book a success. A few things I love about the site are:
- They have lots of design styles you can use that contain layouts, backgrounds and embellishments with coordinating banners and text. They have both free styles and additional styles you can purchase, but the free ones aren’t just basic ones that you wouldn’t be able to use to produce a quality book.
- They provide idea pages from other users that you can plug your photos into for a custom look.
- There are upgrades you can purchase like lay flat pages to help extend the life of your photo book
- If you don’t have the time to create a book on your own, you can use the Make My Book service. After you upload your photos, Shutterfly designers will create your book for you for $9.99.
In addition to Journey’s book, I’ve made a wedding book and created one for my BFF Ashlee’s birthday. Since she and I love both Beyonce, I made hers a Beyonce-inspired book with quotes from her favorite Beyonce songs.

These photo books are an awesome labor of love and a way to do more with your photos than just post them on social media! By signing up for the Shutterfly email list, you can get notified of their promo codes and save up to 50% off your order. Also, you can use my share link to receive a free photo book! I hope you all enjoy!
