Nesting

With less than a week until my due date, I’m filled with so many emotions. It’s been a while since I have sat down to collect my thoughts, probably because they are all over the place. Excitement, anxiety and total fear are all present as I prepare mentally for Journey’s arrival. Having a child is such a life changing moment and though I’m the oldest of six kids and somewhat mature, I still know there are a lot of unknowns that I will encounter on this rite of passage into parenthood.

On a more lighthearted note, I haven’t fully shared Journey’s nursery, so I figured today would be a great day to introduce it to the world.

I love that her room is a hodge podge of items that I have accumulated during our big events this year, items from my bridal shower, a sequin table runner from my wedding used on her changing table, gifts from friends and family — a perfect blend of old and new.

I’ve also incorporated several DIY items, her bow board, the re-purposed mirror, the bookshelf that I stained and the tassel garland hanging on the wall.  So fun to have personal touches in the space.

I’m not completely finished but pretty much everything I could add before she gets here is up and ready to go. I have a really cute collage frame from Hobby Lobby that I will be filling with our family pictures shortly after she arrives.  For now, I’m just working and impatiently waiting for Journey’s arrival :).

Thanks so much! It was an easy project for an old corkboard I got from my dad’s old office years ago.
